Integration Issues?
Example Issues
  • Does your information look different after it has been moved from one system to another?
  • Does your system crash when you try to send information to another system?
  • Are certain bits of information missing between 2 or more systems?
  • Are you unable to get your systems to talk to each other at all?
Possible Causes
Your systems should be able to talk to each other without causing you too much of a headache. This type of problem is usually caused when there is an underlying problem with the information that is being passed between the two systems, or with how it is defined in one or both of the systems. The key to making your systems talk to each other successfully is to make sure both systems fully understand the information that you want to pass between them. Some example causes are:
  • One of your systems is misunderstanding the information it is receiving
  • A file, or a record within a file, being sent to a system is incompatible with that system
  • Some information is not being sent to a system, or it is not what the target system is expecting so is being rejected
  • Some work is required to build a suitable interface between some of your systems
Our Approach to a Solution
It's not unreasonable to expect your systems to talk to one another correctly. It's a vital part of getting the most out of the information you have within your business, and making your processes as efficient as possible. Our approach would be to work with you to identify which systems are working successfully with each other and which are not, and to then look carefully into what information is moving between your systems and how they are processing it. We would then try to recommend a number of sensible approaches for you to get your systems talking successfully.
